Despite its size Holdara was designed to operate without much manual intervention, and the bulk of the “crew” were in fact the Holdaran mechanoids that were manufactured by the Celestials to do the day-to-day tasks.
The Guardians
The eight Celestials tasked with running Holdara once it was built are referred to by modern Holdarans as The Guardians.
Ilush was the first to recognize the potential for using the heliolith enhanced mechanoids as combat units and enlisted support from Èzyel (hard light weaponry and armour) and Dulbàs (bio-enhancements) in developing their capabilities. But Rouvèsh pushed ahead with his own research into using the “dark particles” to create “wraiths”, ultimately unleashing the Nanovoid that destroyed them all.
Each Guardian relates to a specific aspect of the game world: skill area, elemental attribute and related biome, and is essentially a god to modern Holdarans:
Dulbàs the Compassionate – Consumables: alchemist/alchemy – marsh
Èzyel the Insightful – Crafting: smith/crafting – marsh
Ilush the Protector – Battle: warrior/speed – plain
Ngaul the Wanderer – Travel: merchant/stamina – plain
Áyós the Strong – Buildings: mason/strength – mountain
Tiriná the Graceful – Cosmetics: jeweller/dexterity – mountain
Nidado the Dreamer – Exploration: resourcist/sense – forest
Rouvèsh the Cunning – Magic: technomancy/focus - forest
The Great Houses
Each Guardian is associated with a specific Holdaran House which covers a particular aspect of game activity and skill tree.
Celestial facilities associated with a particular Guardian provide boons to House members who are the only ones who can access them (or at least important parts of them).
